1. Laser Gingivectomy
A young patient of 20 years age had visited our family dental care centre with a problem of GUMMY SMILE. She wanted us to help her improve her smile so that less gums are visible when she is smiling. She was also very apprehensive about pain during and after the treatment.
After studying and understanding her problem, she was advised a procedure called as GINGIVECTOMY with the help of our diode laser
The Patient agreed to our treatment when the benefits were explained to her about the role of laser in her treatment.
Procedure
Through the natural analgesic and biostimulating effect of laser the following benefits are obtained.
Local anaesthesia i.e. no injection is necessary
Virtually no pain during treatment
Virtually no bleeding
Fast and effective procedure (15 minutes).
Easy and minimal post operative care
Minimum healing time (7 days).

2. Advanced Smile Saving
A 72 year old patient had visited our family dental centre with destroyed upper front teeth. The patient wanted to remove the badly decayed front teeth because of pain. The patient was unaware of the fact that the teeth and the smile can be saved.
After examination and xray of the teeth the patient was made aware that the roots of the teeth are strong and that modern dentistry and advanced dental procedure can save very badly broken down teeth. The patient was happy to know that there is no need to remove the teeth and do expensive implants or bridge work
The Procedure
Endodontic procedure (Root canal) treatment was done to save the root stumps .
After Endodontic procedure the coronal part of the root canal filling is removed to place root canal post.
Endodontic fibre post is place and bonded into the root stump.
The core is then built around the post
The tooth is then shaped to receive a crown (Cap).
Impressions are made and temporary crown are placed
Permanent crown are placed and the cavities in the lateral incisors and canines are filled.
3. Full mouth rehabilitation

The patient is confidently smiling.
Six monthly follow-up is recommended to the patient
The confidence is apparent with the patient

The material is then bonded onto the surface of the tooth using a special dental light.
The tooth is then shaped and polished giving it a natural look.

7. Veneers for hypoplastic (discoloured) and chipped teeth
Before treatment
The upper incisors are hypoplastic i.e. the enamel is weak and not properly formed. The incisor are chipped on the biting edge.
In the above photograph we have removed the hypoplastic enamel cleaned and shaped the teeth to bond direct veneers onto the teeth.
After treatment
Direct Veneers made from composite material matching the tooth color have been bonded onto the teeth.
The patient feels nice to see the new smile.

8. Multiple anterior crowns
Before treatment
The patient has neglected his dental health past 10 years.
The patient has badly carious and fractured upper front teeth.
The patient cant smile confidently due to his front teeth.
The personality of the patient is hampered.
Procedure
Root canal treatment is done for the upper front teeth.
A post in inserted to give the teeth extra strength and support and a core build up is done.
The tooth is shaped in such a way so as to retain the crown.
After treatment
The patient is happy to smile for us.
9. Tooth coloured or composite fillings
Advantages
Esthetically gives a pleasing appearance.
Highly recommended because it has anti-decay properties i.e it has fluoride content.
Before treatment
We can clearly see the decay (cavity) in the tooth
The decay is removed and the cavity is shaped to receive the filling.
After treatment
The cavity is filled with the tooth coloured filling material.
10. Scaling and polishing (oral prophylaxis)
Besides brushing your teeth twice a day ,it is necessary to get a dental scaling and polishing (prophylaxis) regularly for the health and look of the teeth.
It is ideally necessary to get a dental clean up done every 6 months.
Procedure
Scaling is used to remove stains caused by tea, coffee, smoking, habits like chewing pan ,tobacco.
Scaling also helps in removing the plaque (tartar) caused by food accumulation around the teeth.

11. Single porcelain crowns-all ceramic crowns
Procedure
The crown is shaped in such a way as to retain the ceramic crown
After treatment
The ceramic crown appear to emerge directly from the gums
It is very difficult to differentiate between the original and the ceramic crown
12. DIASTEMA CLOSURE
Most common causes for various diastemas:
Tooth size – jaw size discrepancy. i.e one or more teeth are smaller as compared to the jaw size.
Malformed or irregular shaped teeth.
Treatment plan for distema closure
Removal of habit like thumb sucking and tongue trusting
Use of removable appliances incorporating finger spring or split labial bow.
Use of fixed orthodontic appiances.
Esthetic correction can be done by veneering
Prosthetic correction like crowns can also be given in some cases.
A few important points
The beauty of the tooth is related to the size and shape of the tooth.
The smile is greatly affected by the size and shape of the tooth
Closure of multiple diastemas by VENEERING
Before treatment
The lateral incisor appears smaller than the normal size
Thus according to the golden proportion rule the centrals appear larger due to the smaller sized centrals.
After treatment
Veneers were bonded over the surface of lateral incisor according to the golden proportion rule and the centrals were also shaped similarly.
Thus now the smile of the patient is improved.

13. Smile rehabilitation
Patient with multiple problems with her smile
The Problems
Multiple cavities
Gaps between teeth
Improper tooth/face configuration
The result…………
No confidence in the smile!!!!!!
Veneers(Laminates)
Veneers are thin but strong tooth colored materials bonded on to the tooth
The veneer color is chosen, the shape decided based on the shape of the patients face
The veneers are then bonded on to the tooth
In this person 4 teeth i.e the central incisors and the lateral incisors are veneered.
Confidence restored! A Great smile achieved

18. Multi Disciplinary Dentistry
A young patient of 17 years of age had visited Dr. Saluja's family dental centre with the following as in the photograph below.
Before treatment
He had lost his central insicor tooth of the right side upper jaw a year ago. He had also fractured his left side upper central incisor tooth, and because of the missing right side central incisor there was space closure owing to the approximation of the adjoining teeth. The following treatment plan was implemented:
Orthodontic treatment to regain the lost space.
After 1year of orthodontic treatment
Ceramic bridge after orthodontic treatment
Final result after bridge work
